And now for some pimping, shared universe style

As you know (and I’m talking to you, Bob), last year my story “Coca Xocolātl” appeared in the shared universe anthology ReDeus: Divine Tales. I had a lot of fun writing that story, so when the editors decided to do a second volume of future tales set after The Return, I promptly got in line.

That new book is entitled ReDeus: Beyond Borders, and it comes out next month. In the meantime, the fine folks at Crazy8 Press have invited the book’s contributors to yammer a bit, and yours truly is up first.

So now you can follow this link over to their site and read what I have to tell you about the continuing saga of Matlal Alejandro Garcia y Fuentes, professor emeritus and representative of the Aztec God Huehuecoyotl. But I warn you, as soon as you do, you’re going to want to buy the book!

So this happened:

Hugo-nominee Nancy Fulda is one of the people who has been spending part of her time here at the Worldcon walking around with a plush buffalito on her shoulder and handing out postcards giving away my new novella “Barry’s Tale.” On the first day of the convention she had her buffalito (she named him Jared) with her at the gym, and it drew the attention of someone who as it turned out was working the Press Room for the convention. She invited Nancy to come and sign up, so that anyone seeking authors for interviews could in turn contact her.

Later that morning, Nancy found me, and together we went searching for the Press Room (not necessarily an easy thing to do in the vastness of the hotel) and we both signed up.

Yesterday, the Press Room called me and left a message. Twice actually. MTV wanted to interview me for their Geek program.

After a bit of phone tag I found myself in the big chair of the Interview Room (right behind the Press Room) and spent the next 45 minutes talking into the camera about Klingon, the Conroyverse, and Paper Golem.

I have no idea how much of that they’ll use, if any, and it may just come down to a two-second clip of me shouting “I want my MTV” in Klingon. Then again, they may run the URL for the novella as part of the video or include it on their website. That would be awesome.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to the Worldcon. Still a bit of programming left.

Coming soon to Trek Radio! #tlhIngan #tlh

After many weeks of battling scheduling conflicts, I’m at long last set to appear as a guest on the Star Trek online radio network!

The show happens on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011, from 6pm to 9pm. It’s called “the Warrior’s Den” with DJ DeyvID.

DeyvID’s been playing some of my DaHjaj Hol podcasts on the show, so presumably there’s already some interest in having me come on and talk about the Klingon language. And he’s being gracious enough to allow me to also talk about my fiction, as well as the work of others that I publish via Paper Golem.

And it’s a call-in show, so feel free to pop in and chat if you’re around.

Last month, in between racking up his Nebula Award nomination and his Hugo Award nomination, Eric James Stone found time to interview me. You can read it on his blog here.

And once you’ve done that, go read his short fiction so you can send him a vote. If he wins a shiny rocket, he might even let me touch it.

Because one day wasn’t enough to contain the interview, Gray Rinehart is back today with the second part of his conversation with me.

Here’s today’s portion: http://bit.ly/lmsgray2.

And if you missed it (or just want to read it again), you can find the first part from yesterday here: http://bit.ly/lmsgray1.

Thanks again, Gray!

Author and fellow Codex member, Gray Rinehart interviewed me as part of the recent Codex Blog Tour. Gray’s a curious guy and his questions really got me going. So much so that the interview went too long to run as a single post.

You can find the first part here: http://bit.ly/lmsgray1

Thanks, Gray!

I ran into Author and Blogger Michael A. Ventrella a few weekends ago at a writers’ coffeeshop function organized by some members of the Liars’ Club. We chatted a bit afterwards and he expressed an interest in interviewing me. Naturally, I agreed.

You can find the result here: http://bit.ly/mavlms

Thanks, Michael!
