Hello, and welcome. You’re listening to DaHjaj Hol, your daily dose of Klingon language. I’m your host, Lawrence Schoen.
Your noun for today is a very personal one. It’s vuD. V, U, Capital D. vuD means opinion. Everyone has one on every topic. Now you’ll be able to talk about some of yours. The following examples will help:
reH Qap HoD vuD
the captain’s opinion always wins
qoHmo’ vuDDaj vIQoybe’
because he is a fool, I did not hear his opinion
vuDwIj potlh law’ vuDlIj potlh puS
my opinion is more important than yours
A person is able to form an opinion in a new language almost as soon as he can form a sentence. You can certainly construct many many sentences in Klingon, and so you are able to speak your mind on a wide range of topics. Some of the worlds that language can open may not be shared by others, but they are nonetheless still very important to you. qo’mey poSmoH Hol.
