Hello, and welcome. You’re listening to DaHjaj Hol, your daily dose of Klingon language. I’m your host, Lawrence Schoen.
I meant to give you this verb months ago. It’s bach. B, A, CH. bach means shoot. Consider the following examples as target practice and you’ll get comfortable with this word in no time:
wej mIl’oD Dabachbej
you’ve obviously not shot a sabre bear yet
HoD vIbachchu’ ’ach la’ vIbachbe’
I shot the captain, but I didn’t shoot the commander
chay’ jagh wIbachlaH maleghlaHchugh
how do we shoot the enemy if we can’t see?
You may not know that you’ve hit something just because you’ve shot at it, but the same is not true with language. Just taking the shot changes the language for you. Every bit of practice improves your accuracy. There are misses, but no misfires. qo’mey poSmoH Hol
