Hello, and welcome. You’re listening to DaHjaj Hol, your daily dose of Klingon language. I’m your host, Lawrence Schoen.
Today I’m going to share with you not one, but two of my favorite nouns. The first is nav. N, A, V. nav means paper. The second noun I have for you is most commonly made of paper. It’s paq. P, A, Lowercase Q. paq means book.
potlhbe’ HoD nav
the captain’s paper is not important
rut paqmey maS romuluSnganpu’
sometimes Romulans prefer books
nov navmeymo’ nov paqmey Datu’nISbe’
because of the alien’s papers, you don’t need to find the alien’s books
So now you know more nouns. Can you really enjoy adding them to your repertoire? Can you really enjoy being able to come up with dozens if not hundreds of new sentences by combining them with vocabulary you’ve already mastered? Can you really enjoy expanding your knowledge of the warriors’ tongue? I am, of course, being rhetorical. It’s not a question of if you can do these things, but only how much you’ll enjoy doing them. And the only way to find out for sure, is to do go ahead and do them. So, go, enjoy the language. It opens worlds, you know. qo’mey poSmoH Hol.
