Hello, and welcome. You’re listening to DaHjaj Hol, your daily dose of Klingon language. I’m your host, Lawrence Schoen.
Would you look at that? It’s Friday already. Let’s flip through the pages of Marc Okrand’s Klingon for the Galactic Traveler and select your KGT word for this week.
It’s ghoq. GH, O, Lowercase Q. ghoq is a verb that means spy on. Time to get sneaky with some sample sentences:
qatu’chugh choghoqlaHbe’
if I find you, you cannot spy on me
pIj nughoq romuluSngan
the Romulan frequently spies on us
jughoqmo’ DaH pIHoHchoH
because you spied on us, now we will kill you
You might notice the feelings of confidence growing in you as you practice with Klingon. Words come more quickly to your lips, the rhythms of the language are making more sense. Everything is becoming a bit more familiar, even as you strive to expand your vocabulary. This happens to all language warriors, some sooner than others. It’s just another sign that your growing command of the language is opening worlds. qo’mey poSmoH Hol.
